El Esfuerzo is a bronze sculpture, created by artist Humberto Peraza Avila, and was unveiled on March 6, 2002. It is located in the Paseo del Malecon, also called Paseo de los Pescadores , in front of the Yacht Club and a few steps from the Veracruz Harbor.
The inscription at the base of the sculpture reads:
“The great efforts acheived by three Mexicans uniting their forces, merged into one single common goal: put the first block for modernization of the artificial pier.”
