The Man Shark Sculpture was inaugurated in 2006 on M. Avila Camacho Boulevard. It is a bronze figure created by the artist and architect Armando Sebastian Salum Valenzuela.
His recent work commemorating the 490th anniversary of the city which he entitled, An Angel for San Sebastian, is made of fiberglass, resin, alabaster and silver leaf.
This impressive work was unveiled by Jon G. Rementería Sempé the Mayor of Veracruz on April 4, 2009 on the M. Avila Camacho Boulevard. Armando Sebastian Salum Valenzuela was born in the City of Veracruz on January 20, 1964.
He did various design and decor work for prestigious hotels nationwide such as the Sheraton Mexico, Fiesta Americana Mexico, Fiesta Americana Cancun and the Sheraton Cancun. He has exhibited his work since 1996 in major galleries in the country.
