The Taking of Zacatecas Museum
The Mueso Toma de Zacatecas opened its doors in 1984 to commemorate the sixtieth anniversary of the epic 1914 battle known as "La Toma de Zacatecas" meaning “The Taking of Zacatecas.” This museum presents a graphic picture of what happened in this city during the battle. Its rooms display; clothing and weapons used during the battle (a long-range cannon, machine guns, rifles, Mausers), a model of the entire area where the battle took place noting both the positions of the revolutionary and the federal forces, a 1906 city plan of Zacatecas, copies of newspapers and photographs (mostly of Reginald Kahn), artillery and documents that illustrate this revolutionary factual tale. The atmosphere is completed with period furniture that recreates the feeling of the time.
