The building of the Parroquia de Nuestra Señora del Refugio started on July 4th, 1960 thanks to the altruism and generosity of a handful of faithful and loyal devotees from the community. This chapel’s simple Gothic style architecture houses inside an altar that features a depiction of the celestial Virgin Refuge. In the chapel there is a courtyard where at the back you find the sacristy. This temple has many visitors, and it is located in front of the Miguel Hidalgo Park, one block from the boardwalk (Malecon) in Puerto Vallarta.
