Temple of the Shrine of Guadalupe
Temple of the Shrine of Guadalupe
Temple of the Shrine of Guadalupe (Templo del Santuario de Guadalupe).
The construction of this neo-classical style church was ordered by Feliciano Ramos in 1833 due to a promise he had made to the Virgin of Guadalupe.
This man came from Havana to Mexico as a slave of a Spanish family. Later, he was released due to good behavior and gradually became a brillant and successful trader.
The highlight of the place is the seven sculptures representing seven virtues. Four of them are in the front of the tower and represent Charity, Faith, Temperance, and Fortitude.
