Perhaps the best known Oaxacan folk art is black pottery, be it for its high quality, originality, excellent prices or all of the above. But that is not all that you can find in this rich state, where the variety of art is bound only by the limits of imagination. We only have to mention of the 6,000 mestizo and indigenous towns, and of the 16 different ethnic groups, to give us an idea of the rich scale of artistry that can be found in this region of Mexico. This area also produces beautiful textiles, pottery, saddlery, jewelry, tin products, cutlery, pieces of carved wood made from palm and basketry. These unique and creative products of great artistic value, can not be missed.
