This is one of the places that flank the cathedral. On its large esplanade you can see a statue of Melchor Ocampo and a original fountain that is used as a stage for different kinds of performances  (from manifestations to exhibits of altars of the dead). It also have benches for resting and a spectacular view of the majestic buildings that surround it.
Previously it was called Plaza de San Juan de Dios, since there were a hospital in front of it that had  that name.
