Plaza de Armas o de los Mártires
This old plaza was part of the original Spanish planning of the city of Valladolid, between 1541 and 1546. They wanted the benches and gardens have the perfect dose of sun and shade, that before the Cathedral was behind bars. Its kiosk was built in 1887 and its current form dates from the mid-nineteenth century and was renewed in 2004. The name "Plaza de los Martires" is because at this place several priests and politicians were cruelly sacrificed in 1830.
