Information

In the Mausoleum of Jose Alfredo Jimenez lie the remains of the famous singer. It was erected on November 23, 1998 to commemorate the twenty-fifth anniversary of his death.  It is made in the shape of a giant hat, at the bottom a cauldron and epitaph: "Life is not worth anything."

It emerges from a winding, multicolored blanket made in the tile work of the City of Dolores Hidalgo, which embodies the titles of several songs from his musical work. The author of the project is the renowned architect Javier Senosiain, husband of Paloma Jiménez Gálvez. It is worth visiting the mausoleum. The house of Jose Alfredo Jimenez is located at Avenida Guanajuato No. 11 and was owned by Don Agustin Jimenez Tristan, a pharmacist, who established in the year 1900 the pharmacy "San Vicente", the first of its kind in the City. Here he was born on January 19, 1926, the great Dolorense composer Jose Alfredo Jimenez.  It is located opposite of the Centennial schools, where Jose Alfredo received his primary education.
