The Route of the Convents  is a recommendable day trip that takes a full day. It includes the sites: Acanceh, Tecoch, Telchaquillo Tekit, Mama, Chumayel Teabo, Mani, Ticul, Muna, Uman, Motul, Mococha, Dzinzantzún, Valladolid and Yaxcaba. These attractive religious buildings rose up during the conquest of America upon the recommendation of the Spanish Empire for the purpose of converting the indigenous population to Christianity. While on the tour, admire the religious art and enjoy of the sense of the olden days that is still felt in these small towns.
