Uxmal- Archaeological Site
Uxmal, which means “Built three times”, is the gateway to the Puuc Route. It has one of the most impressive buildings throughout Yucatan, the main pyramid called “Casa Del Adivino” which means House of the Prophet. This pyramid is 115 feet high and was constructed so that during summer, the main entrance is facing the sunset. Due to the dryness of the soil, Uxmal is a very hot place to visit, so be sure to wear light clothing. All of the cities that make up the Puuc Route can be visited from 8 am to 5 pm, and at night at Uxmal, you can witness a light and sound show.
Open every day. Entrance: $57 pesos. (Important: CULTUR, Yucatan State Government charges a fee of $177 pesos to foreign) The sound and light show is an additional cost of $72 pesos for foreign)
