Palacio Municipal- City Hall
Palacio Municipal- City Hall
Initially, the Palacio Municipal was next to the Casa Real (what is today the State Capital Building). It was a single-story stone mansion, which also included the town’s jail. It was built during the government of Santiago Aguirre (1734-1736). Over the years the building experienced successive changes in its architecture, and in 1928 the facade was remodeled and a new clock tower was built, which was later replaced by another in 1929.
