The city of Saltillo offers a wide range of places to visit, among them the Museum of the Revolution, El Sarape Museum as well as the Santiago Cathedral, the Government Palace, City Hall, and San Esteban Church. The city has plenty of green areas which include the urban forest located in the heart of the metropolitan area, in addition to Las Maravillas Park and Uriñola Ecological Park where you can enjoy beautiful scenery, waterfalls, and fountains.

The local cuisine is based on meat with roast beef, goat, and machaca or dried meat being the most popular. It is important to mention that the bread, Pan de Pulque, is a typical product of this region of Coahuila. Among the desserts you can enjoy is a delicious cheese with walnuts and la cajeta de membrillo which is similar to a carmel fruit marmalade. Typical drinks are fruit liqueurs, sotol and table wines.

The handicrafts of the city of Saltillo are Sarapes which can be purchased at the Juarez or Nuevo Saltillo markets located downtown.

The nightlife of the city is pounding on the boulevards of Venustiano Carranza and Jesus Valdés Sánchez with regional to northern and country music.

Mountain biking and skiing in the Sierra de Arteaga Natural Park are among the sport activities in the area.

The city of Saltillo is located in the southeastern part of the state of Coahuila. You can reach the city by taking the highway Carretera No. 40 (Monterrey-Saltillo), Carretera No. 57 (Torreón - Saltillo), or Carretera No. 4 (Zacatecas - Saltillo).

The Saltillo International Airport receives flights from the rest of the Mexican Republic as well as U.S. cities.

Saltillo has a bus station which is located on Avenida Libertad and Luis Echeverria in the area of the city called Colonia Bellavista.
