Information

This park’s main attraction is the zoo, with more than 1,000 animals among 120 different species of mammals, birds and reptiles.  Fantastic are the giraffes, lions, flamingos, monkeys, tigers, and other species, some endangered. It has a wide variety of plants and entertainment areas, as well as, you can see the centennial tree which was planted when the zoo opened its doors in 1910.  There is a man-made lake inside as well, which makes a wonderful place to pass some time enjoying the row boats. It also has an aquarium and a reptile room.
Inaugurated on September 18, 1910 to celebrate the first centennial of the Independence of Mexico, the Parque Zoologico Centenario was decreed as a protected natural area on January 31, 1963 by the state council.
