The Alejandro Rangel Hidalgo University Museum
The Alejandro Rangel Hidalgo University Museum
The Museo Universitario Alejandro Rangel Hidalgo is a tribute to this illustrious personage, who was a man of great quality and talent that always understood that his passion for collecting beautiful things only made sense if he could share them with others. This museum presents some of his work and the wonderful collection of pre-Columbian pottery found in the undergrounds of Nogueras and acquired by Don Alejandro. It has 5 rooms: 2 rooms dedicated to pre-Hispanic art from Colima, a room that exhibits furniture and paintings by Alejandro Rangel, another room with a recreation of an ancient Mexican kitchen with all its elements, and finally a room which displays the uniquely styled Christmas cards also created by Rangel, and which went around the world thanks to the generosity of his donation of these designs to UNICEF. There is a small entrance fee.
Entrance fee: $20.00 pesos. 50% discount for students and teachers. Seniors with ID free entrance.
Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 6:00 pm.
