Several years ago this old neighborhood of San Angel served as one of the preferred places for relaxation and get-a-ways by the city’s aristocrats. Over time, the urban area expanded its borders, eventually including and beyond the limits of San Angel. But the area’s charm was not lost for this reason, much to the contrary. It became a residential area of huge mansions and cobblestone streets where people can stroll and enjoy the variety of restaurants, galleries, curio shops, crafts and other stores, thanks to the well-kept architecture that gives the place charming panoramas, which contrast harmoniously with the modern surroundings. Make sure to visit San Angel especially on Saturdays when you can visit the Jardin del Arte and the Saturday Bazaar.
