Formerly located in the Aquiles Serdan Park, the sculpture of Ignacio L. Vallarta is now placed in the Plaza de Armas main square, between city hall and the Arcos del Malecon of Puerto Vallarta. The work of sculptor Miguel Miramontes Carmona, this bronze statue represents the distinguished Jalisco lawyer that inspired the name of this port. It was donated by the state governor, Professor Juan Gil Preciado and inaugurated in 1964 by Mayor Carlos Arreola Lima.
