The Mar y Estrellas bronze sculpture, was inaugurated by mayor Felix Salgado Macedonio, as part of the ‘Rescue Front of Traditional Acapulco’ program.  The sculpture is located next to the  Plaza de la Heróica Escuela Naval Militar, and it depicts the queen of the seas represented by the mythological character of the mermaid, which with her enchanting song, caused the downfall of the sailors.
