The Theater of Peace- Teatro de la Paz

The Theater of Peace- Teatro de la Paz
The San Luis Potosi Teatro de la Paz (The Theater of Peace), is one of the four main theaters of Mexico. It was constructed during the times of Porfirio Diaz, and opened on December 4, 1894. There have been significant political and cultural events held at this theater.
The building was built by the architect Jose Noriega, in a neoclassic style with French influences, with a pink stone facade. The interior of this theater has been remodeled twice, maintaining its original style, and inside you can find different sculptures like the one of dancer Celica Arias by Joaquin Arias, as well as murals by Fernando Leal which line the walls along the stairs. The theater has a maximum capacity of 1,450 spectators.
