The Ignacio Ramírez ’El Nigromante’ Cultural Center
The Centro Cultural Ignacio Ramírez ’El Nigromante’ originally served as the cloister for the adjoining convent. Today it belongs to the Mexican National Art Institute (INBA) and is dubbed locally in San Miguel simply as "Bellas Artes". The center offers classes in painting, drawing, sculpture, music and dance, and is known for its large murals including those by the celebrated Mexican painter David Alfaro Siquieros, a former teacher at the center. The center houses a museum, an auditorium, two art galleries, and a charming courtyard café.
