Founded in 1721 on the initiative of Bachelor Juan Caballero y Osio, the building was completed by José de Torres y Vergara. The convent served as a prison for Maximilian of Habsburg before his execution by a firing squad at Cerro de las Campanas. The former convent, displaying cultural exhibits, is now dedicated exclusively to cultural matters, housing the City and the Triumphant Republic Museums. Open: Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 to 19:00 Hrs.
