The small bay of Carrizalillo is approximately 300 m wide, protects one of the corners of the dreamy Mexican Pacific Coast and is one of the six beaches that is offered by Puerto Escondido:  Playa Carizalillo.

It is located between Playa Bacocho and Playa Manzanillo, it is a 10 minute walk from Playa Manzanillo in the Bay of Puerto Angelito and 15 minutes from downtown Puerto Escondido. With its fine, white sand you will find some palapas with restaurants serving seafood and fish.

You can rent your own equipment for diving into the crystalline and quiet waters except for an area that opens directly into the sea and where the waves are big enough for surfing, which limits the fine white sand.

At noon, it is common for a fisherman to offer the guests of the palapas the fish of the day. The Bay has some rocky areas that serve as habitat for a wide variety of fish and corals, so it is recommended that you respect the biodiversity of the site.

To get to Playa Carrizalillo you have two options: water taxi from the main beach or walking down the stairs to a trail that descends a steep slope.
