In the rear of the Palacio Municipal of San Cristobal de las Casas, lies this great Plaza Civica, known as the Hero’s Park or Park of the Arches.

It is framed with semicircular arches and heavy columns. Here civic events are performed and festivities like the traditional "Burning of Judas"  on Easter.

Throughout the year, every Monday the employees of the municipality, pay homage to the flag.
