The main objective of the Museo de Medicina Maya is the dissemination of Tzotzil, and Tzeltal healing practices on a regional, national and international level.

Throughout its six spaces, museum visitors can view different techniques and practices of traditional Maya medicine of Chiapas held by shamans, or indigenous healers.

Be sure to visit their ornamental garden that contains a wide variety of medicinal plants.

If you wish, you can also have a consultation with traditional doctors from the center who perform healing of body and soul through prayer and purification by a traditional indigenous temazcal (sweat lodge).
