Information
Three blocks from the Iglesia La Merced, between the La Merced and San Antonio neighborhoods , begins the long flight of steps that climb up to the Templo de San Cristobal, also known as El Cerrito, located at the top of the San Cristóbal Martyr hill, patron of the city.
This temple was built by Friar Juan de Ordoñez in the late eighteenth century.
Every July 25, the hill lights up with fireworks, music, food, visitors and worshipers who venerate the image of this saint. Be sure to visit the tiny chapel that is outside the Church. Festival Day: July 25.
