The historic downtown of the City of Campeche is one of the most beautiful in the country and it is the most representative of the colonial era, as seen in each one of the houses with the delicate beauty in their facades, showy doors and wonderful windows that are unique in the southeast. The architecture from colonial times and the subsequent periods represent over 452 years of work, witnessed in the religious buildings such as the Cathedral, and its slender towers that majestically stand finished in the form of a crown framing the facade. The walls of Campeche are also testimony to the colonial era that can be re-lived and breathed with every step through the streets of the city.
