The mission of the Museo Chiapas de Ciencia y Tecnología is to provide information to children and adults, about the technological operations of the most modern scientific developments through interactive, educational and entertaining spaces.

It was built on the site which was formerly the Cerro Hueco Prison. The prison was completely destroyed in its entirety to allow for the majestic modern building which now stands in its place, created for the specific purpose of housing a museum with spacious and well designed rooms.

The museum has a room devoted to temporary exhibitions, a space called the Science Recreation equipped with a playroom and a computer room and where science workshops are taught, and three permanent halls whose themes are:

   1. Universe and Earth
   2. Life and human beings
   3. Communications and tools

This last hall describes the development of technology, addressing the topics of nanotechnology, biotechnology, sustainable development, robotics, artificial intelligence and information technology.

Services: Guided tours for school groups. An auditorium and a cafeteria where they hold activities and events such as breakfasts, press conferences, forums, book presentations and lectures, among others.

Museum Hours: Tuesday to Friday from 9:00 to 5:00. Saturday and Sunday: 10:00 to 5:00. Cost is $ 20 pesos.
