Ethnographic collection of objects relating to the municipalit. 

Formed in conjunction with the Carlos Pellicer Museum, the Museum and Historical Documentation Center of Tepoztlan, the Museum and Dococumentation Center of Tepoztlan is located inside the former Convent of the Nativity.

This space has four rooms displaying different ethnographic objects that reveal the lifestyle of the ancient inhabitants of the municipality.  There is also a historical library where you can see the traditional dress of the Chinelos used during the Chinelos Jump, a traditional dance of the Carnival of Tepoztlan.

Also on display is a scale model of the municipality showing the surrounding hills of the Cerro del Tepozteco and the mountains of the Sierra del Ajusco, as well as important pieces from different Mesoamerican cultures, among them, the sculpture of the God Ometochtli that was found decades ago in the foothills of Tepozteco.

Schedule and Cost: Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00a.m. to 6:00p.m.  Admission is free.
