Half Moon Lagoon
Half Moon Lagoon
From the depths of the Earth spring forth streams of sapphire-blue thermal waters that feed into the most important lake in San Luis Potosi: La Laguna de la Media Luna (Half Moon Lagoon). This lagoon is the best place to snorkel and scuba dive in the entire state. The hot springs maintain an average yearly temperature of between 27 and 32̊C (81 and 96̊F), with shallow and deep areas, ranging from one to 36 meters (3 to 108 feet). The waters are so clear that upon submerging yourself, you can observe the actual torrents of water sprouting from the earth. You can even enter a cavern surrounded by water lilies, illuminated by the sun during the day. The surrounding areas are excellent for camping, and you can also find a great many stores and restaurants nearby for your convenience. Scuba diving equipment is available for rent and guests can also lodge in the comfortable cabins located near the lake.
