The Capilla de la Virgen de Guadalupe is considered to be one of the oldest buildings of Real de Catorce. It consists of two sections, one that is dedicated to St. Francis of Assisi, and the other that is dedicated to the Virgin of Guadalupe. The first section has an image of St. Francis at the top of the entrance archway, and is also adorned with a dark stone. Previously here, there was a stone sculpture of St. Francis that was worshiped in the chapel, but it was later moved to the Parish of the Immaculate Conception, where it continues to be revered every October 4. The other facade has the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe in white stone. The Virgin of Guadalupe Chapel houses original 19th-century paintings and several tombs of important people from the town. In the cemetery there are numerous rituals that are held during the November Day of the Dead holidays.
