Built on January 16, 1987, the Plazuela de Guadalupe was dedicated to the man that was the author of the Treaty of Virtues of the Indigenous and of the Constitutions, the founder of the University of Mexico and the Palafoxian Theological Seminary, and the benefactor of Puebla: Juan de Palafox y Mendoza. This man left as a testament of his work; the Cathedral of Puebla, schools, hospitals, chapels and the Palafoxiana Library. The people of the state and its government, and the city council recognize the work of this illustrious person. It is an open plaza that is located next to the Our Lady of Guadalupe Sanctuary and in front of the Paseo Bravo.
