Following the tour around the square, you find Huitzimengari Palace, a mansion whose central courtyard is filled with flowers and currently hosts various crafts exhibitions.

It is said that lived here was the son of Tangaxoan II, Antonio de Huitzimengari, godson of the Viceroy of New Spain, Don Antonio de Mendoza, who served as governor of Patzcuaro during the time of the Conquest.  It is the oldest house the city, built in 1711.
