Although this city is a symbol of change and renewal there is a place in the center, where the architecture resists the passage of time and stands as a demonstration of what centuries ago  represented Monterrey. The Barrio Antiguo (Old Town) is a compound of streets and buildings, where the oldest dates from the seventeenth century. It is located behind the Cathedral and is one of the busiest social centres; many restaurants and bars have been established in this area while respecting the original facades of the houses but adapting their interiors with modern tools that enable healthy fun of the locals and visitors. It is a compelled place to know, walk and take pictures.
