Every Thursday evening in Merida is a party. Come and attend the weekly event that surely is one of the oldest and perhaps the favorite, the Nights of Serenatas at Santa Lucia Park. This show is so popular and fascinating that you must arrive on time to get a seat. The event is also transmitted through the local radio station. You can enjoy dances, songs, poems and "bombas", all in the Yucatan style. Be sure to observe the commemorative plaques on the walls around the park which celebrates the 500th, 1,000th, 2,000th and 3,000th representation of the serenatas offered since the 40’s.
