The imposing expiatory church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in the city of Leon, Guanajuato, is characterized by its beautiful neo-Gothic architecture and its stained glass windows.

Above the entrance you can see a beautiful rose window where the deity is surrounded by cherubs, very similar to the rosette of Notre-Dame de Paris. The main facade doors are made of iron, lined with bronze leaves of engravings depicting various scenes from the life and passion of Christ.

The natural granite floor is a red and green granite from Brazil. The altar is made of two types of marble: the white marble and green pical. Behind the altar, you can admire a stained glass image of Christ the King of the Universe.

The city of Leon and the other, St. Peter’s Basilica, is represented in one of the two lateral stained glass Windows.
