In the eastern part of Boulevard Arturo A. San Roman Chavez, the Municipality of Ixtapan de la Sal welcomes all visitors with a beautiful bronze sculpture placed on top of a column whose base rests inside a fountain.  This work represents Ixtapancihuatl (or Iztapancihuatl) the Goddess of the Hot Springs. Its appearance is that of a goddess in Aztec mythology.  It represents beauty in her body and virtue in her magic wand, and quite poetically, she does sprout thermal water. This work arose from the imagination of Don Arturo San Roman Chavez and made possible by the doctor and Mexican sculptor Carlos Martín del Campo.
