The Zihuatanejo Bay covers an area of 14,190.05 square meters and consists of several beaches: Playas Principal, Madera, La Ropa, Las Gatas y Playa Larga.  Ixtapa consists of Playas El Palmar, Quieta, Linda, and Ixtapa Island.

In all of them you can enjoy various water sports, and this area has the fame of being the second best destination in the world for sport fishing.  You can also surf, scuba-dive, as well as rent pedal boats, ride on a banana boat, or take the thrill of the famous skydiving. Of course what you will mostly see is people resting, sunbathing and swimming, and just generally enjoying the warm waters and climate of this part of the Mexican Pacific.
