The Guanajuato Balloon Festival is an air balloon festival is the most traditional and pioneering in Mexico in Latin America which is carried out during the month of November in the capital city.

It calls for a group of professional pilots from different countries.

At the Guanajuato Balloon Festival in 2009, the following pilots participated: Dick Goss, Sam Edwards, Javier Carrillo, Francisco Martínez, Gauthier Ted, Danny Joe Sherrill, Fred Edmiston, Guy Gauthier, Wayne Bishop, Bill Adler, Cheryl Edwards, Carles Comellas Rabal, Viridiana Cortés, Isaias Silva, Oscar Ramirez and Sergio García.

During the Festival the following activities are held: small parade of baskets and pilots, old cars, motorcycles.  Inauguration and preparation for take-off, painting workshops of ceramic balloons.
