ArchitectureThe Streets of GuanajuatoGuanajuato

You may feel that you’ve gotten lost in the streets of Guanajuato, but ... so what! It is delightful to enjoy the imposing colorful colonial buildings.

With a past that goes back to its origins in the sixteenth century, the squares, gardens, churches and coffee shops with baroque and neoclassical facades, offer the best while touring in the day.... and at night, the small cobbled streets light up.

Between songs, laughter, jokes and tequila, the young people of the Estudiantinas (singing student groups) guide visitors through the streets to present the legends, places and history of the Guanajuato capital, one of the most beautiful cities in Mexico.

In 2008 the Municipality of Guanajuato and the Philips Mexicana company signed an agreement undertaking an ambitious project, to give scenic lighting and illumination to the city such as has not been seen before in any city of Latin America.

Thanks to this beautiful lighting, the Historic Center of Guanajuato glows like Paris, Lyon and Toledo, or monuments like the Parthenon, the Eiffel Tower and the Pyramids of Egypt
