Built in 1588 as part of the Convent of Santa Maria de Gracia. The architectural compound covered a radius of six blocks and had a temple, a school for girls, an orchard, a house for chaplains, a hostelry and even an eye of water.
The palace facade is austere and in its interior is a central patio with arcades and  a fountain at the center, all in quarry. In the staircase shows a mural of Guillermo Chavez Vega where portray important moments in the history of Mexico. Since 1952 is the seat of the Judiciary of the state.
