"History becomes art in Tlaquepaque," say villagers.

This  Jaliscience corner stand out for the works carried out by the hands of its artisans. In fact, this is called the "most important pottery town of  Mexico", and indeed it is.
Its name means "Lugar sobre lomas de tierra barrial" and save years of history in the environment.

The streets of the historic center make us go back to the past, the time of New Spain when this place was already regarded as a protagonist in the production of handicrafts. Taking a walk down the Independencia street , will surprise us. There is a lot of art galleries that would turn pale several world capitals ... with envy. Many of the best artists and jewellers in the country have a shop on this avenue.
Maybe we want to sit in one of the benches that are art in themselves or  we can take a picture with some of the sculptures that greet us here and there, as in many parts of the Guadalajara metropolitan area.

It also has its more traditional area. The Palacio Municipal is white and form a perfect harmony with the Parish of San Pedro,  main church that worships especially the Virgin of Guadalupe. The Jardin Hidalgo is just next to the parish and is a place for family reunion. It has a traditional kiosk at the center, the whole image of a Mexican town!
But you can not leave Tlaquepaque without visiting a place that since the beginning of the twentieth century is a symbol of Mexican joy: The Parian, a large building which stands in the middle of the Jardin Hidalgo.

The building was erected in 1883 and since 1905 houses restaurants and bars, although, as we know, has been in operation since 1979. It also has benches and a kiosk at the centre where they presented various traditional spectacles with the rhythm of  mariachi music.  This, of course, at night.
So you know, be prepared to spend some pesos in crafts, food and drink and your camera because  surely  you will find images worthy of being saved  into  your family album.
