According to the legend,  whoever slips on the smooth surface of the stone remains in Colima, either because of getting married here or because the land of Colima will be their final resting place.
The monolith, which may  be a volcanic stone, is a little more than 2 meters tall and has a small rustic staircase and a sloping area, which with the passage of time has acquired a smooth and shining texture, similar to a slide. The Parque de la Piedra Lisa has a playground,  rollerblading area,  basketball court, outdoor theater, and other attractions.
