On Sunday, June 17, 2011 the Grand Parade in Mexico City was held;  an event organized by the government of the capital, and which was designed to give children, tourists and locals a world-class show  in the Federal District. The event took place through a collaborated effort of the state, private sector, educational institutions, and artists from different disciplines who plan to make it an annual tradition.

The event featured entertainment for all tastes. Among its attractions were the reinterpretations of other symbols of Mexican culture, such as La Catrina, or rag dolls, mixed with contemporary music, colorful costumes, and giant helium balloons.

There were also international characters that were already part of the taste of nationals and foreigners, such as Mickey Mouse or Spiderman.  Without leaving behind the Mexican classics, the car-themed Francisco Gabilondo Soler "Cri-Cri" entertained the crowd.  Live performances were given by artists in different categories such as dance, gymnastics tables, Brazilian rhythms, clowns, and circus arts, among others and were a time of joy and greeted with standing ovations by the audience.
