One of the most significant icons of the city is the Jardin de San Marcos built in 1847 with the aim of providing the people a place of recreation in a natural setting. You can find  benches  everywhere in the garden  and are an excellent  shelter from heat on sunny days. There are also beautiful fountains in each corner, vases and a exceptional kiosk forged in cast iron. It is  surrounded by thin balustrades carved into pink quarry with access to the four cardinal points. It is very common to hear the locals legend that talks about the ghost of a man who every day, a late-night strolls through the garden, pray at the doors of the church and then he disappears.
