The running of the bulls (encierro) is a practice within bullfighting which consists of funning (inside fenced urban roads) in front of a not very abundant herd of bulls, steers, or heifers. The enclosures are very popular in Spain and Latin America, in places where Taurinas festivals are held.  The Monument to the Encierro is a large sculpture by the Jalisciense artist Jorge de la Peña Beltrán, which represents seven bulls and a man on horseback revealing his courage. It is a work cast in bronze, where each bull weighs at least a half ton; the rider 1,700 kilograms. The monument is 24 meters long by 10.5 wide and has a height of 6.5 meters. Its existence is a continuous tribute to the aguascalentenses cattle herders as each bull is branded with a mark from its herd.
