As part of the second edition of the “Tour Film Brazil International Festival”, which took place from May 20 to 21 in Florianópolis, capital of the Brazilian State of Santa Catarina, the tourism promotion video “Mexico in your Senses” (México en tus sentidos) received the “Grand Prix Arara Vermelha,” the highest honor of this event involving more than 5,000 videos, representing 50 countries.
Mexico also won the Gold Macaw in the category of Best Music and Best Video of Latin America.
Tourism Promotion Campaign “Mexico in your Senses”
Performed by Willy Sousa, this video lasts 6:54 minutes, it is owned by the Tourism Board of Mexico and the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR), and is comprised of representative images of nature, folklore and culture of the 32 states of Mexico.
With this new recognition, “Mexico in your Senses” won the privilege to participate this year in two international competitions: The “Festival of Festivals – Grand Prix CIFFT” to be held in November 2011 in Vienna, Austria, and “Tourism International Film Festival “organized by Art & Tur, in September 2011 in Barcelos, Portugal.
Mexican-born photographer and filmmaker, Willy Sousa is the General Director of Casa Industria Films Studios. To date, it has won a total of 54 international awards and he also stands as the first Mexican director who has created, produced and performed a tourism campaign for the government of another country (Saudi Arabia) continuously for over 5 years.
